Lineside Solutions
Our modular lineside solutions involve the storage, transport and organisation of consumable material, products and components alongside production lines. Effective Lineside solutions allow for efficient control over production inventories and provide many benefits:
Quantity Control
Inventory distribution quantities can be controlled and monitored reducing restocking, loss and theft.
Improved Quality of Work
The quality of working practices and as a result, the overall job quality is improved, providing a faster assembly/production process with a better finish on products.
Protection
Prevents cosmetic and structural damage of components during transit from stock rooms to work areas.
Assembly Efficiency
Assembly staff can quickly associate where each component is located, making the assembly process faster. E.g. Containers and inserts can be organised in their assembly order or specific types of components can be organised into individual containers.
Restocking Efficiency
With correct labelling of pockets restocking is fast and easy, each pocket has a specific and consistent component and location making them easily identifiable with less reliance on check sheets or listings.
A complete lineside system supplied by us will usually consist of 3 modules:
- Racking – Usually in the form of a shelved trolley on castors this acts as the support structure for holding the containers.
- Containers – These can be open or closed top, commonly to a euro box standard and hold the inserts and production components/materials
- Inserts – Made from either foam or engineering plastics the inserts can be customised to hold almost any component or material. Inserts can be configured as foam/plastic shadow boards or sectional dividers as required.
Partial systems can also be manufactured to complement existing setups. These could be foam inserts to replace existing inserts due to production changes or new boxes to suit existing racking/trolleys etc. This can allow for a modular system that accommodates varied production runs without completely replacing the lineside system, keeping costs and storage space at a minimum.
